Checking and managing your CMC connection

This article applies to the CMC Invest integration only

How do I know if the connection is set up correctly?

There are two ways to check.

Check in Sharesight:

In Sharesight, go to Account > Sharesight API. You should see CMC Markets Stockbroking listed under API partners.

If CMC Markets Stockbroking is not listed, the connection has not been set up. See Setting up your CMC connection to get started.

Check in CMC Invest:

In your CMC Invest account, go to Account > Tax & Portfolio Reporting. Under the Sharesight action column, you should see an Access status.

If it shows Register instead of Access, the connection is not active. See Setting up your CMC connection to connect your account.


Why is my portfolio empty after connecting?

This is normal. After setting up the connection, it can take 24–48 hours for CMC to push your trades through to Sharesight.

If you selected Send my last 12 months of trading history to Sharesight during setup, your trades from the past 12 months will appear once CMC has processed the request.

If you selected Do not send my historical trades, no past trades will be imported — only new trades going forward will sync automatically.


Why is my portfolio incomplete?

The CMC Invest connection only covers your past 12 months of trades. If you have trading history older than 12 months that is missing, you will need to import it manually.
