Sharesight product updates – November 2025
We are rolling out our new calendar feature to all Standard and Premium paying customers today, Monday 17 November. We’ve received a lot of positive feedback regarding this new feature and are excited to roll it out in full.
In keeping with our focus on the dividend investor last Thursday, we released a ‘Dividend insights’ pane on the holdings page that includes among other things dividend yield and yield on cost. The dividend yield is a simplistic calculation, taking the sum of all dividends with an ex-date in the past year and dividing that value by the current price. To make the value comparable across any market, we have made the deliberate decision to exclude tax credits and supplementary dividends from the equation. We do have a few tidy ups to do, such as adjusting for splits and considerations, and these will be addressed in the coming weeks.
Yield on cost uses the same formula, but instead of dividing by the current share price, we divide by the average purchase price. As a result, this metric excludes brokerage from the equation. Depending on feedback and demand, we may look to expand on both these calculations. Despite these qualifiers, we think these new data points add another set of useful insights into your investments.
Our other major focus this month has been to release the first installment of a major upgrade to our billing flows. At the time of writing, 30% of users will see these upgraded screens, increasing to 50% by the end of the week. You will experience our updated pages the next time you need to renew your credit card details, or shift from one paying plan to another. Our overall goal here is to improve the user experience of navigating between plans and entering billing details, with the intention of bringing additional transparency, fairness and improved security to these payment functions. This work will continue into the new year.
My colleague Milly will be returning to write the December update and will introduce yet another major feature to close out what has been a very busy year for the product team.
