Automatically import Robinhood trades into Sharesight

by David Olsen, Content Manager, Sharesight

Did you know that you can automatically import trades from over 100 brokers around the world into your Sharesight portfolio? In 2012 we developed a solution that allows you to automatically record your buy and sell trades via the PDF contract notes (trade confirmations) emailed to you when you trade with some brokers.

We’ve now added the ability to import trades automatically for our first US-based broker: Robinhood. This makes it easier than ever for US investors to leverage our award-winning performance, dividend tracking, and tax reporting features.

Who is Robinhood Financial?

Robinhood is a US-based broker that offers ‘zero commission trading’ on US-listed securities and has grown in popularity after offering commission-free trading in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies earlier this year. Robinhood is also looking to expand into the Australian market pending regulatory approval.

How to enable Sharesight’s automatic broker email import feature

It’s easy to enable Sharesight’s Broker Email Import feature to begin automatically adding your Robinhood trades to your Sharesight portfolio. Watch this how-to video or read our Broker Email Import help page to get started.

One thing to note: Sharesight’s Broker Email Import feature does not support automatically importing Robinhood cryptocurrency trades as their trading confirmation emails do not provide us with enough data to correctly record the trade. However, you can still track these trades manually with Sharesight’s cryptocurrency tracking feature.

We need your help to add more brokers!

If your broker is not on Sharesight’s list of supported brokers but they email you trade confirmations/contract notes (or you’re able to download the PDF trade confirmations from your broker), then ask us to support your broker by sharing an ‘idea’ on our community forum, or by leaving us a message in the chat interface located at the bottom-right of Sharesight.

We just need a handful of PDF contract notes in order to support a new broker, so reach-out today if you’d like to see yours added!
